WWN: Vegas and Birthday

[GREETING GOES HERE]

What's Going On

Just got back from Vegas last Friday! I didn't really want to go tbh, but I'm sort of glad I did this year

Since Ben had that cocktail party again, I came just to catch up with friends and meet more people (also to help set up lol). It was cool that people recognized me, and we continued to develop relationships from last year.

During the party, I had surprisingly good and deep conversations.

I talked to this middle aged dude for a while, who was telling me how boring my life was. And as a naive little Christian boi that doesn't do anything fun, I can see how enticing a life of partying and sleeping around is, but also could tell how empty and deeply unsatisfying that was, even for him.

Listening to his story, I saw the pain and suffering that he had experienced from the selfishness of people, causing him to take that path of quick pleasures and shallow, "this for that" relationships. I think if I were in his shoes, I might have done the same.

Some fun conversations too though. Hanging out with drunk people is so funny loll

And I didn't know at the time, but I also talked to some famous authors.

The next day I attended a panel about revisions, listened to a talk from Kevin Smith where he yapped about himself, then got all you can eat sushi with Ben and friends. The dinner was rather nice, although they kept saying how this was the best sushi they ever had lol.

Another reason I came was cause Ben wanted to introduce me to some people for the comic, but that didn't happen. So...uh I guess that's alright.

I think all in all, pretty successful trip. Put myself out there, made some friends and got 20 bucks!

What I've been thinking about

I'm turning 25 on Saturday, so I wrote down some of my thoughts on success

Would love if you could give it a read and let me know what you think!

Thank you!
